I am an IB school – can I use IMPACT with my students?

Extend Education

Last Update 3 years ago

IMPACT has been designed as an enrichment programme for international schools all over the world. However, it has some unique applications and benefits for IB MYP and DP students, and is strongly aligned with the IB programmes in the following ways.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

IMPACT supports the aims and objectives of the CAS syllabus – inspiring students to investigate, act on an identified problem, innovate, problem-solve, collaborate and reflect on their experiences. It is highly effective when used throughout the first year of the Diploma Programme.

IB World School Authorization

IMPACT is a transformational resource that directly supports the development of international-mindedness (supporting the following Standards and Practices from Guide to school authorization: Diploma Programme: Standard A: Practice 4; Standard B2: Practice 1a; Standard C2: Practice 7–8).

ATL Skill development

The deliberate strategies and skills in IMPACT support the IB’s ATL skills as outlined in the MYP and DP. Just like the ATL skills themselves, IMPACT has been designed to enhance student learning and assist student preparation for DP assessment and beyond.

UCAS/University/College applications

During IMPACT, students manage their own learning and build competencies across four key areas: core skills, innovation, leadership and enterprise – helping them to stand out from the crowd on job or UCAS/college applications. Each of the 10 topics in IMPACT is linked to discrete skills that have been chosen for their relevance to the World Economic Forum's top 10 job skills of tomorrow.
